State House Denies Authorising ‘Fake’ Presidential Agency as FRSC Admits Issuing Official Plates

…FRSC adds, We didn’t know it’s a fake establishment

Mr. Adeyemi Matthew

The State House Director of Administration, Mr. Abdullahi Idris says letters allegedly emanating from the State House for the establishment and operations of Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFICP) were fake.

Idris made this known at a public hearing organised by the House Ad hoc Committee probing the establishment and operations of the PFIPC in Abuja on Thursday.

He said that the said letters requesting for budget codes from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation and the Budget Office, signed by one Mr. Akanbi Adewale, Director Administration and Support Services were fake.

According to him, there is no department in the state house by the name Administration and Support Services.

Idris who provided the list of directors of administration in the state since 2003, said no one by the name Akanbi Adewale ever occupied the office of the director administration in the state house.

Also speaking, the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Shehu Idris confirmed to the committee that the commission issued seven government number plates to the council.

He said that all necessary documents to process the plates such as establishment Act, office address and other support documents were provided by the council.

According to him, men of the commission, as part of due diligence, visited the address and found the council in operation before issuing the number plates.

Idris said that the commission only discovered that the establishment Act was fake when it came out in the media.

The chairman of the committee, Rep. Yusuf Gagdi (APC-Plateau) urged the agencies to be more circumspect.

He urged them to always be alert to enable them detect perpetrators of fraudulent actions using names of agencies.

Gagdi adjourned hearing to Aug. 13, saying that all agencies and individuals mentioned in the saga will be invited to meet face to face. (NAN
