The Japanese Government is set to sign a pact with Nigeria toward deepening bilateral trade ties between both countries for mutual economic growth.

He said that Japan was committed to sustainable development ‎of Africa, especially Nigeria, in the area of infrastructure development, industrialisation and technology transfer.

According to Miyazaki, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed during an International Investment Conference scheduled for Nov. 7 in Lagos.

According to Miyazaki, also the Managing Director, Japan’s External Trade Organisation, more Japanese companies are interested in establishing and expanding businesses in Nigeria.

He said that Japan would continue to work with‎ Nigeria to build resilient macro-economic institutions that would support sustainable trade and investment and inclusive growth.

On the forthcoming Lagos International Trade Fair, Miyazaki said that about 23 exhibitors with over 30 brands from Japan would participate in the fair.

“Nigeria is a very promising country with high economic potential and a large population that is over 180 million people.

“Many Japanese companies have shown interest in investing in Nigeria, and some would be participating at the trade fair to explore business opportunities and information exchange among entrepreneurs from both countries,” he said.

The International Investment Conference, where the MoU would be signed, will take place at the trade fair complex.
