Ihedioha, El Rufai, Ambode Projected to Win in Imo, Kaduna, Lagos

Admin April 12, 2015

ambodeEarly results from Imo State showed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, leading his main opponent in the governorship election, the incumbent Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While Ihedioha has put up a strong showing in his base, Mbaise axis of Owerri senatorial zone, Okorocha is struggling to battle the onslaught of the PDP candidate into his Orlu stronghold. Okigwe zone, the battleground zone, appears to be tilting in favour of the PDP going by results.

The governor lost at the polling unit in Government House Owerri with a margin of one vote. The PDP polled a total of 58 votes to defeat the APC which scored 57 votes. Similarly the Deputy Governor of the state, Prince Eze Madumere also failed to deliver his booth as PDP won with 533 while he only managed to get 10 votes. Although the Chief press secretary is disputing the figures but he has failed to provide the actual result from Afara ward 11 PU 001 where the Deputy Governor voted.

Here are some of the results already released at the Polling Units level in different parts of the state which confirm the early lead of the PDP in the governorship elections:

Meanwhile reports from Kaduna indicate that the gubernatorial elections in the state may have gone to the All Progressives Congress [APC] candidate Nasir El Rufai.

According to available results, Malam El Rufai has gained a wide margin over the incumbent Governor of Kaduna State – Gov Yero of the PDP. Kaduna State is the home state of the vice president Namadi Sambo but it was clearly won by the APC in the Presidential election.

In Lagos, the APC candidate Akinwunmi Ambode is projected to win with a wider margin than the APC did in the Presidential election. Early results showed the APC sweeping to victory even in areas earlier won by the PDP in the Presidential polls.
