COWLSO 2018: TY Bello Receives Inspirational Woman of the Year Award

The inspirational photographer and singer, TY Bello has received the 2018, inspirational woman of the year award by Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO.

According to the organisers of the annual event, she was given the award for being an inspiration to the younger generation, especially in the area of photography/arts.

Gov. of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki said COWLSO has done so well in giving the award to Bello. He thanked the association for the honour. “Her role in Photographing me turned my campaign around. Her powerful images did it for me”, he said while declaring the conference open.

Receiving the Award at the event theme: Strengthening our Collective Impact, Bello said, ” This award means so much to me, for art and creativity and I am happy that Lagos is a State rewards art and creativity.”

The award-winning singer and photographer whose work is internationally recognised and holds a reputation as one of Nigeria’s foremost photographers! Her evocative portraits never fail to rouse strong emotions and have made her one of the most applauded and keenly sought after portrait photographers in the country. Indeed she has the unique distinction of having photographed three sitting Nigerian Presidents.
As one of Nigeria’s most recognized artists; TY Bello produces engaging yet timeless music. She launched her successful debut solo album Greenland in 2008. It’s title track–Greenland and Ekundayo became instant hits and are now widely accepted household favorites.
