Sen. Rochas Okorocha has expressed joy over the judgment by a Federal High Court in Abuja, which declared him the authentic Imo West Senatorial Candidate of APC.

This is contained in a statement issued in Owerri by Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Chief Sam Onwuemeodo, and made available to newsmen on Thursday.
Okorocha thanked President Bola Tinubu for providing the enabling environment for the judiciary to operate independently.
He also thanked the ruling APC for having exceptional regard and respect for members of the party to pursue their legitimate goals and constitutional rights, unhindered.
He described the judgment as a “resounding victory for the nation’s judiciary, her growing democracy, the nation’s constitution, all lovers of what is right and for posterity and history “.
Okorocha had gone to Court to challenge the outcome of the APC Imo West Senatorial primary election, following the declaration of Gov. Hope Uzodinma as the winner by APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He asked the court to determine whether it was constitutionally right for Uzodimma to contest the 2027 senatorial election, while serving as elected governor of lmo, a tenure which would elapse in January 2028.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, granted Okorocha all the reliefs he sought for, declared him the authentic APC candidate for lmo West, and also ordered INEC to list his name to that effect.
