Anticipation Rises for Konga Yakata

Admin November 7, 2018

Konga Yakata sales exceed forecast

Anticipation and excitement is on the rise as Nigerians eagerly await this year’s edition of the Black Friday sales popularly re-christened Konga Yakata by Nigeria’s e-Commerce giant, Konga which kicks off by midnight on Thursday November 8th 2018.

Konga Yakata, widely regarded as the biggest sales event of the year – will run every day from November 8th – 28th 2018 online @ Konga.com and offline in every Konga retail store nationwide.

In addition to offering shoppers unmatched discounts on a wide variety of products including mobile phones, laptops/computing items, home/kitchen appliances, electronics, consumer goods, wine/spirits, food items and much more, Konga Yakata is also set to unload a variety of surprises and freebies for shoppers including flash sales, treasure hunt and special give-away on specific days of the month-long campaign.

Already, a number of shoppers have expressed their determination to stay up until the early hours of Thursday November 8th in order to be among the first to take advantage of the crazy deals and massive price slashes on offer from Konga Yakata.

“Last year, I spent the sum of N600,000 for Konga Yakata as I had just moved into a new apartment which required some furnishing and I must state that I was amazed at the number of items I was able to shop with that budget. The prices on offer were unbelievable and most importantly, the items were all delivered in time. Also, I did not have to worry about being sold inferior quality or fake products as is the case with other unreliable platforms,” disclosed Emmanuel Iwu, a mid-level executive of a new generation bank.

Continuing, Emmanuel affirmed: “This year, I have been patiently waiting and finally, the D-Day is almost here. I will be among those eagerly waiting for the stroke of midnight on Thursday to commence my Black Friday shopping,” he declared.

Also expressing her thoughts at the shopping fiesta, Mrs. Bolanle Awe – a regular shopper at Konga, disclosed that the opportunity to enjoy an offline version of the Konga Yakata sales were among the special attraction for this year’s sales.

“In previous years, it was a struggle competing with millions of Nigerians for the Konga Yakata products and special deals online. This year, Konga has expanded the shopping options available for customers with their retail stores and this made it easy for me. I have already decided on the Konga store where I will be doing my shopping the moment their doors open on Thursday and the good thing is, I can pay cash and pick up my items same day. I am so excited and my friends and colleagues are all looking forward to this year’s Yakata,” Mrs. Awe concluded.

In addition to the opportunity to shop online and in any Konga retail store nationwide, shoppers can also enjoy flexible payment options for Konga Yakata including online payment, through Konga Pay and payment on delivery – with the latter option proving very popular since it was re-introduced in August 2018.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the swift delivery provided by Kxpress, Konga’s world class, in-house logistics company and the option of personally picking up their items at any Konga retail store of their choice, a unique feature which sets Konga Yakata apart in this year’s Black Friday’s sales.

“One of the major problems faced by Nigerian e-Commerce players during and after Black Friday is the deluge of undelivered or unfulfilled orders as a result of the spike in traffic which is a feature of the heavy shopping season,” stated Obi Ikeagu, an e-Commerce analyst.

“Most times, shoppers have no choice but to face cancellation of their orders as a result of the failure to meet up with their deliveries by these e-Commerce companies who are often overwhelmed and under immense pressure.

“This is why the Konga nationwide network of brick-and-mortar stores presents a very interesting dynamic for this year’s Black Friday sales. Many savvy shoppers who have had their fingers burnt in previous years now have a choice: place your orders online and choose to pick up in a Konga retail store nearest to your location or simply walk into the store to do your Yakata shopping and walk away with your items without any stress. It is a game-changer for e-Commerce in Nigeria.”
