Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded another operational success following an intelligence-led operation against Boko Haram terrorists in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The successful operation took place at approximately 11:00 am on September 1, 2026, in the Lamusuri general area.
Troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion, operating under Sector 2, conducted a targeted operation along a suspected terrorist route in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
Upon sighting a group of Boko Haram terrorists moving along the identified path, troops engaged the insurgents in a firefight. One terrorist was neutralised during the encounter, while several others fled the scene into the surrounding area with suspected gunshot wounds.
A subsequent exploitation of the area by the combined forces led to the recovery of key military equipment, including:
1 AK-47 rifle
3 magazines
90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition
1 body pouch
According to Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer for Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, in a statement, the engagement highlights the crucial role of sustained intelligence-led operations and close collaboration with local security stakeholders in disrupting terrorist movements across the theatre.
Goni added that troops of Operation HADIN KAI remain resolute and vigilant, maintaining continuous pressure on terrorist elements to deny them freedom of action and restore lasting peace and security to the North East region.
