African serial entrepreneur and chief promoter of youth empowerment on the continent, Mr. Tony Elumelu, has announced appointment of Dan Okeke as Group Executive Director of Heirs Holdings.

Heirs Holdings founded by Elumelu is an investment company devoted to improving lives and transforming Africa with a portfolio spanning the financial services, power, oil & gas, real estate & hospitality and healthcare.

It is at the heart of multiple interventions by the Tony Elumelu Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that has empowered thousands of young Africans with both skill and capital for 21st century entrepreneurship.

In announcing the appointment of Okeke, Elumelu wrote on his Facebook page: “Earlier this year, I shared my New Year goodwill on this platform and included the ‘3 Gs’ which I believe account for the success of the group thus far. The third ‘G’ was ‘Great People’ because I know that an organisation is only as great as its people. At Heirs Holdings we encourage, empower, and celebrate our people who constantly push the boundaries of their imagination to execute the vision and deliver innovative solutions to business challenges.

“It is with that conviction that I am pleased to announce Dan Okeke as Group Executive Director of Heirs Holdings.  Dan joins us following a great three-decade career at UBA Group where he most recently served as an Executive Director, responsible for leading consumer, commercial and public-sector businesses. At HH, he will be responsible for business coordination and growth across Heirs Holdings’ portfolio of pan-African investments.

“Dan’s appointment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to institutionalisation. We have always recognised the need to invest in human capital. This appointment is a clear demonstration of our intent to create sustainable value in all our business operations.”
