Bukayo Saka and Arsenal have reportedly reached a verbal agreement for a new long-term contract, over £200k per week (£10 million-a-year deal) which is expected to run until 2028.

The new deal is said to have sent sizzles of joy among Arsenal supporters who had feared they might lose Saka to any of the European giants.

Reports say the deal is not signed, but this is seen as a huge breakthrough with the deal  expected to get done in the coming weeks.

Saka is arguably one of Arsenal’s best players these past seasons and he has always been touted to leave the Gunners for other bigger clubs in Europe. always wanted to stay, no doubt.

He is yet to sign the contract, but it is still massive news for Arsenal. They have always remained confident of agreeing on an extension with the winger. The £10 million-a-year deal also reflects Saka’s status in the squad.

Saka could become one of the highest-paid players in the squad, possibly only behind Gabriel Jesus. Meanwhile, the news will come as a big blow to interested clubs, who had kept tabs on Saka’s situation. Chief among those are Manchester City, who were keen on the winger to join them.

Saka has had a sensational season in Arsenal colours, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 23 Premier League games. The Gunners currently sit on top of the charts with a two-point gap over Manchester City and a game in hand. They now travel to Leicester City in an attempt to extend their advantage at the top.
