The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a series of operational successes across ten states, leading to the arrest of 14 suspects, the disruption of major criminal networks, and the recovery of high-caliber firearms and illicit items.
The developments were announced in an official statement issued on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, CSP Ani Iniedu.
Among the major breakthroughs was the foiling of a targeted assassination attempt in Rivers State on September 15.
Operatives on routine patrol along Kaani, Bori, in Khana Local Government Area intercepted the suspects, forcing them to flee and abandon an AK-47 rifle loaded with live ammunition.
In Kano State, police operatives arrested a high-profile suspect described as the leader of an armed kidnapping and cattle-rustling syndicate operating across Kano, Katsina, and Kaduna States.
The suspect, apprehended on September 14, confessed to multiple operations and is providing information to track down remaining syndicate members and recover operational weapons.
Joint operations also yielded key recoveries in Ogun State on September 14, where police and So-Safe Corps personnel intercepted an abandoned bag along Success Community Road, Atan-Ota. The search revealed a cut-to-size AK-47 rifle, a Russian single-barrel gun, an unserviceable Browning pistol, live cartridges, and burglary tools.
Across other states, targeted tactical drives resulted in further arrests and recoveries:

Akwa Ibom State: Operatives responded to a distress call at Ikot Ekweng Village, Ibiono Ibom LGA, on September 14, arresting an armed robbery suspect and recovering two locally made pistols and machetes from his residence.
