BVAS syndicate busted

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has arrested a number of suspects believed to be  involved in the manipulation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

The suspects were apprehended by the police in a sting operation on Ganges street in the highbrow Maitama area of Abuja.

Inquests by our reporter showed that the suspects were arrested at 15 Ganges Street said to be the property of a top politician affiliated strongly to one of the Presidential candidates.

A top security source told Political Economist NG that the police obtained credible and actionable intelligence after detailed undercover investigation.

Working on the gathered intelligence, personnel of the FCT police command stealthily swung into action and took the suspects by surprise in a well-choreographed sting operation.

The police have since taken the suspects into custody and are investigating the illegal possession and suspected manipulation of the BVAS.

One of the suspects arrested is said to be the Vice President of a company known as Emperor Technology.

The BVAS machines which defaulted technically during the election is said to me supplied by a company owned by a politician, a Senator.
