A serving member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Abiola Inaolaji, representing the Irewole/Isokan State Constituency on the platform of the Accord party has been arrested alongside 146 suspected political thugs in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state command, DSP Abiosun Ojelabi, confirmed the arrest on Saturday in Osogbo, noting that the operation took place in the early hours of the morning.

The arrest was carried out jointly by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) during an intensified security sweep.

The police command stated that the raid was part of proactive measures to curb violent disruptions and protect the credibility of the electoral process.

In a video clip circulating online, a suspect identified as Ibrahim confessed to facilitating the transit of the 146 suspects into Osun from neighboring states.

According to his statement, the group was brought in specifically to participate in illegal voting during the election.
