The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) in Niger has arrested one Usman Ejiga who was posing as an officer of the corps and collecting money from job applicants.

The Corps Commandant, Mr Philip Ayuba, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Monday.

He said the suspect was identifying himself as “Commandant Amos Ayuba”.

The commandant said that the suspect had allegedly defrauded many applicants searching for employment, adding that his victims were paying him between N5,000 and N10,000.

He said the suspect was arrested in Sabon Wuse in Tafa Local Government Area of the state when he attempted to collect money from a victim through a Point of Sales (POS) machine.

According to him, the suspect has confessed to committing the crime as a result of his job loss, and that he will soon be charged to court after investigation.
