LASG empowers 5,000 residents with vocational skills in 4 years

The Lagos State Government has revealed that it has empowered over 5,000 individuals in the State in Vocational Skills such as ICT, Digital Marketing, Fashion Design, Videography, Catering, Mixology and more.

This disclosure was made by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the graduation ceremony of the 4th batch and induction of the 5th batch of participants of Project Loud, a Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment training and empowerment programme. 

The Governor, who was ably represented by the Director, Partnership Department of the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Olayinka Oye- Bamgbose stated that it has become necessary to empower the people, especially youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive.

Sanwo-Olu further stated that the motive behind the “Project Loud” initiative was to transform lives through education, technology and entrepreneurship, adding that there is the need to equip the Youth with the tools to thrive in the 21st century.

According to him, out of over 5,000 persons who have benefited from from these programmes, over 2,000 are women and girls, adding that they also includes young persons who have been trained in coding and digital literacy in boot camps.

The Governor, therefore, encouraged everyone who has participated in the empowerment programme to make the best use of it and contribute positively to the economy by using what they have learned.
