Ikoyi Building collapse: 49 persons missing as death toll rises to 43

The Lgos State government has announced the recovery of one more body from the site of the collapsed 21-storey building in Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to the State government in a statement by the Commissioner, Information & Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso
on Sunday night, the body which was recovered on Saturday, has brought the number of bodies retrieved from the rubble to 43.

He added that there are 15 survivors and 49 persons have reported that their loved ones missing, while identification of bodies is still ongoing at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba.

“The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, once again, commiserates with the families of those who died in the incident”, he said.
