Fani-Kayode condemns attack on Charly Boy, says we must reject violence, calls Buhari’s government “murderous”

Admin August 16, 2017

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the attack on iconoclastic entertainer and showbiz maestro, Charles Oputa also known as Charly Boy during a protest in Abuja on Tuesday. Charly Boy escaped attack by a mob of Buhari supporters in Abuja on Tuesday.

He and his group left the Unity Fountain area where they had been sitting out and decided to take their campaign to the popular Wuse Market  but they were confronted and attacked with stones by sympathizers of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode, writing on his Twitter page, said that Nigeria would have “exploded” if Charly Boy was murdered.

He tweeted: “The Buhari government is a murderous contraption that has no respect for human rights. Charly Boy Oputa could have been murdered by Buhari’s foot-soldiers today.

“If that had happened Nigeria would have exploded. Tension grips the land as we approach Oct.1st. WE MUST REJECT VIOLENCE!”
