Bomb blast at an IDP camp recently
The peace and joy of the Eid el Fitri was shattered as a bomb blast, suspected to be from a vehicle loaded with explosives, killed four and injured three people in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. Some witnesses placed the death toll at six.
The explosion occurred at about 7.10am in the Bulumkutu area metres away from Shehu Elkanemi College. The vehicle, identified to be a tricycle (Keke) was said to have exploded while in the traffic with two occupants. The explosion also impacted on a police vehicle just ahead of the tricycle.
No official statement has been released as at the time of this report.
