Dangote Petroleum Refinery has approved seven major oil marketers to handle the initial purchase and distribution of its refined petroleum products.

The companies are MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited and NNPC Retail. Others are Total Nigeria Plc, 11 Plc, Conoil Plc and Ardova Plc.

At the moment, the details of the purchase and distribution arrangement are being worked in readiness for commencement of operations expected to herald a new phase in the nation’s downstream operations.

The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), are all expectant that the new phase would ease pricing and product availability nationwide.

Recall that on January 12, 2024,  Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced the commencement of production of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and JetA1 (aviation fuel) after several postponements.

MOMAN CEO, Mr Clement Isong, said that all members had registered with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery for a seamless process for purchasing and selling the refined products. The registration was initiated in 2023.
