An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday, sentenced a 29-year-old unemployed man, Ilias Mudashiru, to nine months in prison for indecently touching a girl’s breast.
Magistrate F. O. Sasanya, sentenced Mudashiru, after he pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault and assault occasioning harm.

She further sentenced him to additional six months in prison for assault occasioning harm.
The Magistrate however, held that the sentences would run concurrently.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Godspower Ehizoba, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 21, at about 8.20 a.m, at Bombata market, Oroyinyin Street in Adeniji Adele area of Lagos Island.
He said that the defendant conspired with others, at large and indecently assaulted Ms Judith Nwachima by touching her breast while she was on way to the clinic.
Ehizoba told the court that the defendant stabbed the victim’s relatives, Stanely Chinedu and Asoiba Chinedu, who were with her with a broken bottle, when they attempted to protect her.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 173, 263 (i) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
