INEC Fixes March 28, For Adamawa Rerun Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Thursday March 28 for the supplementary governorship election in Adamawa State.
According to INEC in a statement on twitter, this is coming “following the discharge of the injunction which stopped the governorship supplementary election in Adamawa state in the case filed by the MRDD”.
The Commission further said it was in this regard, “INEC will now conduct the election on Thursday, 28th March from 8am-2pm”
It noted however that the election will be held in 29 Registration Areas, 44 polling units across 14 LGAs with a total number of 40,988 registered voters.
It would be recalled that before the March 9, election was declared inconclusive, Ahmed Umar Fintiri, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had polled 367,471 votes, while the incumbent governor, Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had garnered 334,995 votes.
