Ogar Jumbo: IGP Orders Conduct of Immediate Autopsy on Cause of Death

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu has directed the FCT Command Commissioner of Police, CP Bala Ciroma to conduct immediate autopsy to ascertain the cause of death of late Ogar Jumbo, an Assistant Superintendent of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The IGP stated this while commiserating with the family, employer, friends and colleagues of the deceased, assuring that everything humanly possible will be done to ensure that justice prevails.
He said, “For the purpose of transparency in ongoing investigation and the autopsy, the family members of the deceased and his employers are at liberty to bring the doctors of their choice”.
It would be recalled that Ogar Jumbo, was allegedly killed by unidentified police officers in Abuja on Tuesday near a military checkpoint.
The deceased was reported to be conveying his two children to school in company of his wife when a policeman ordered him to stop for making a U-turn at a wrong location and failing to comply with traffic rules.
Ogar was however alleged to have been beaten to death with a baton.
