2015: Jonathan’ll Will Run with Sambo –PDP

Admin September 22, 2014

pdp-logoPeoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee has reacted to insinuations that Vice President, Namadi Sambo, was not covered by its proclamation of automatic ticket for President Goodluck Jonathan.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh, at a press conference in Abuja,  admonished journalists to exercise patience and wait for Jonathan’s formal declaration.

“I believe a lot of people are trying to insinuate. Why don’t you try and wait till the president declares? PDP has said it is a winning team and there is no reason to create disaffection.

“The vice president has shown himself to be the most loyal vice president in the history of this country. It is not in doubt that he will contest with President Jonathan,” he said.

Metuh told newsmen that despite the adoption of the president as the sole candidate, the presidential convention of the party would hold as scheduled on December 6.

He, however, said no responsible member of the party would seek the presidential ticket after the PDP NEC had adopted Jonathan.

“Our convention will hold. The PDP has adopted Jonathan and we believe that all responsible and respectable party members will comply with the decision of NEC,” he said.

The publicity scribe justified Jonathan’s sole candidacy on what he called the latter’s performance in office.
