Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has expressed deep sorrow and condoled with the family of twin medical professionals, Dr. Hadiya Usman and Dr. Aidah Usman, who passed away just two days apart.
The Governor’s condolences were conveyed in a statement issued on Monday in Damaturu by his Focal Person on Digital and Strategic Communication, Mr. Yusuf Ali.
The deceased sisters were the daughters of Dr. Hadiza Usman, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Nguru. Dr. Hadiya, a medical doctor stationed at FMC Nguru, died on Friday, while her twin sister, Dr. Aidah, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), passed away on Sunday. Both died of natural causes.
Describing the double tragedy as heartbreaking, painful, and devastating to the family, the medical community, and the entire people of Yobe State, Governor Buni offered prayers for the repose of their souls.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings, grant them eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, and give their mother, Dr. Hadiza Usman, along with the entire family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Prior to the official statement, Governor Buni dispatched a high-level government delegation to Nguru to personally convey his condolences to the bereaved family. The delegation was jointly led by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Abba Idriss Adam, and the Commissioner for Health, Mr. Muhammad Lawan Gana.
