The 2026 World Cup has grossed $15 billion out of which each country will earn $10 million just for participating in the 48-nation format, meaning the 10 African nations will earn a cumulative $100 million.

Senegal, Cape Verde, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Ghana, DR Congo, and Algeria all made it to the Round of 32 for which they will earn extra dollars in addition to the standard $10 million.
This year’s edition of the World Cup ranks as Africa’s best appearance.
FIFA has said tentatively that earnings from the 2026 World Cup grossed $15 billion, the most earnings ever in the history of the tournament.
However, the $15 billion would be split into three major areas leaving far less in the coffers of FIFA.
Expenditure Categories include $2.7 billion (minimum) for football development to be distributed directly to FIFA’s 211 member associations via the FIFA Forward program.
A hefty $4.2 billion is for Tournament Operations and Infrastructure including co-funded logistics, security, refereeing services, and administrative staff.
A cumulative $871 million is paid out to the 48 participating countries with Champions Spain taking home $50 million.
FIFA’s Club Benefits Programme will see it share $355 million to professional domestic clubs around the world as compensation for releasing their players to international squads.
