Why I Can’t Declare My Ambition Now—Jonathan

Admin February 24, 2014

jonathanPresident Goodluck Jonathan said on Monday that there was tension on the land as such he won’t open-up on his 2015 ambition now to avoid aggravation of the already boiling political tension in Nigeria.

He stated this during his Presidential interactive session with members of the media.

“Let me declare my ambition now and you would see what would happen. If I say I am running for 2015, you would hear all manner of issues and if I say I am not running, there would also be issue.”

The President said he would make his intention known soon, but he would not want to be pushed into taking any decision that would cripple the country’s  polity.

The President who showed a good grasp of national matters said that the Petroleum Minister was more powerful than even him as the President of Nigeria.

He added that the former Central Bank (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was only under investigation and not sacked as speculated in some quarters, stressing that the suspension would ensure he does not obstruct investigation in any way.
