Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralised one suspected bandit along Kampani Zurak – Sabon Gari road in Wase Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau.

Maj. Samson Zhakom, OPSH Media Officer ,disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Jos.

Zhakom said that the feat followed a special operation by the troops in the early hours of July 2.

He said that the troops also rescued one kidnap victim during the operation.

“The operation was based on credible information about the movement of bandits who kidnapped a resident of the area.

“During the operation, troops made contact with the criminals conveying their victim on a motorcycle and neutralised one of them.

“Other members of the gang abandoned the victim and fled into the surrounding bushes.

“Consequently, troops rescued a 45 year old victim, Mr. Adamu Nuhu.

“Troops also recovered one fabricated pistol, one pistol magazine, four rounds of nine mm ammunition, motorcycle, among others items,”he said.

The media officer said that the troops were currently conducting follow-up operations to apprehend other members of the criminal gang still at large.
