Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) worldwide has revealed how a text message delivered him from deep sadness when he lost his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye, in May, 2021.

Pastor Dare Adeboye died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday May 5, 2021 in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.

The 42-year-old pastor was the third child of the highly respected General Overseer of RCCG worldwide.

The sudden demise of the middle-age Pastor Dare threw the global community of RCCG members into shock and disbelief as there was no reported case of sickness or any physical challenge prior to his death.

Pastor Dare was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region 35 (Youth), and would have been 43 years old by June of 2021.

Many had wondered how his death would impact on the zeal of his parents whose schedules are usually crowded with appointments to preach the gospel all over the world.

However, while ministering at the April, 2022 Holy Ghost Service at the RCCG Camp Friday night, Pastor Adeboye recalled how he was deeply saddened by the news of his son’s death.

He said in that moment of deep sorrow and mourning, he got a text message from one of his daughters which instantly lightened the burden of grief and made him turn the heavy burden to the real burden-bearer, Jesus.

According to him, the text message simply read: “Daddy, Let God Carry You.” He recalled that immediately he read the text, the tide turned and sorrow disappeared.

The RCCG General Overseer had always doted on Pastor Dare whom he had always referenced as their first miracle child: “Our first miracle child. We pray that God will keep his miraculous working power in your life and all those who need a miracle today, will use you as a point of contact for their own in Jesus’ name (Amen). Love from Dad, Mom, and the whole Adeboye dynasty,” he wrote on social media in June 2020 as his prayer and wish to Pastor Dare on his birthday.

Pastor Dare was referred to as miracle child because all his elder siblings were born through Cesarean Section (Delivery) but he was born through the normal process against doctor’s prediction.

The globally respected Pastor Adeboye preached on the theme: Signs and Wonders, with text from Isaiah 8:18. He described children as evidence that God is a miracle- working God.

Pastor Dare was happily married with children.

Leke, Dare’s brother mourned him thus in an Instagram post: “The righteous man perishes [at the hand of evil], and no one takes it to heart; faithful and devout men are taken away while no one understands that the righteous person is taken away [to be spared] from disaster and evil (Isiah 57:1).”
