An Area Court in Jos, on  Monday sentenced a teenager, Felix Obed, to 18 months imprisonment, for trespass and theft of door worth N10,000.

The judge, Irene Pati, sentenced Obed, aged 19 after he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Pati who gave the convict a fine option of N30,000 for stealing, also sentenced him for six months for trespass with a fine option of N20,000.

She said that the two jail terms should run concurrently.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ijuptil Daniel, told the court that the case was reported at the  “A” Division Police Station, on Feb. 28, by the complainant, Mr George Zugumnan.

Ijuptil said that Obed trespassed into the complainant’s house and stole his door worth N10,000.

The prosecutor, further told the court that during police investigation, Obed confessed to have committed the offence.

He said that the offence contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria, 2017.(NAN)
