Agbu Kefas Governor of Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba has ordered the immediate reduction of student fees in the state-owned university by 50 per cent.

He gave the order when he paid an unscheduled visit to the university to assess the state of the institution.

He explained that the slash in school fees was to cushion the devastating effects of subsidy removal by the federal government which has made some of the students unable to pay their fees

During his visit, the governor discovered that a total of 53 courses offered in the institution were without accreditation even as he was confronted with poor students’ hostel facilities.

The governor further ordered investigation and report on why some graduates of the institution are not mobilised for NYSC or law school.
