Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Wednesday lauded the Federal Government and Nigerian Army for sitting a division in Sokoto.

Tambuwal gave the commendation while inspecting the ongoing renovation works at the army formation located at Kalambaina town in Wamakko Local Government area of the state.

The governor said the new 8 Division of the Nigerian Army would be relocated from Kalambaina town to a new permanent site in due course.

“This (Kalambaina town) is to serve as temporary headquarters for the new 8 Division of the Nigerian Army.
“The state is delighted to host the new formation,” he said.

Tambuwal expressed satisfaction with the level of work done at the site and hoped that the project would be completed within the stipulated time for the smooth take-off of the division.

He assured other security agencies in the state of the state government’s support and cooperation for the sustenance of peace and stability.

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Division, Col. Murtala Abu, who conducted the governor round the project site, assured that the project was going on as scheduled.
