The Police in Taraba State have arrested and paraded a suspected ritualist who is notorious for dismembering human body parts.

The 38-year-old suspect identified as Jumpi Bako was nabbed after allegedly removing the eyes of a four-year-old girl in Sunkani, the headquarters of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of the state.

The police said they succeeded in rescuing the victim but she is currently in a critical condition and has been taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect include two AK-47 rifles believed to have been used to launch mayhem on innocent citizens of the state.

Addressing journalists, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Alkasim Sanusi, said that the command also arrested two suspected kidnappers who abducted the former Chief of staff to ex-governor Danbaba Suntai, Alhaji Aminu Jika.

The police boss explained that the arrest was made possible as a result of the collaborative efforts of local hunters and vigilante groups in tracking down the ransom paid by the victim.

Also paraded is one Ibrahim Jafaru who is a gang leader of car theft syndicates terrorising Jalingo, the state capital.

According to CP Sanusi, investigation reveals that the suspect has successfully stolen 35 vehicles since January 2018 in Jalingo, Taraba State capital and disposed the same to various states in the country.
