Six Months in Office, Gov. Emmanuel Says My Agenda is Development

Admin November 30, 2015

Udom EmmanuelSix months into the administration, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has reiterated that the focus of his administration would remain the development of the state through enhanced human capital empowerment, provision of infrastructure, accessible and affordable healthcare, industrialization and security of the people. He disclosed this when he hosted the media in his office at the weekend.

He said as an investment banker and someone versed in the dynamics of economic management, he would use the resources of the state to create wealth through industrialization, agriculture and sundry avenues in a secure environment, stressing that the peace and security of the state remains paramount in his agenda.

Also in a state-wide broadcast tagged, “Let Us March to Greatness”, to mark the first six months of his administration, he commended the people of the state for keeping faith with the administration assuring that the divine mandate entrusted him is in safe hand and is yielding the fruits of industrialization, wealth creation, political inclusion, infrastructural consolidation and job creation.

The Governor noted that the atmosphere of peace which his administration has created has allowed every one the opportunity to live, exhibit and experience the endless possibilities imbued through God and that that the people of Akwa Ibom owe the obligations of building a society with love with reduced mutual suspicion.

He remarked that the last six months of his administration has witnessed a clear vision on the principles of divine mandate and appreciated the trust bestowed on him to steer the leadership of the state.

The State Chief Executive stated that the mandate granted him during the elections would continue to serve as a springboard for hope, aspirations and also articulate the dreams of the founding fathers and the present generation, stressing that God has increased the strength of the state government while weakening those seeking to usher in frustrations.

He called on the people to ignore satanic propaganda of the opposition on local tabloids meant to chase the selfish interest of a section of persons and assured that the state government has no fears of an election rerun based on the solid support of the people.

The Governor hoped that the end of the judicial process on the election petitions would enable persons of different political affiliations to bury hatchets and join in building the state, saying that relationships built over decades need not be sacrifice on the altar of partisan politics.

The governor paid glowing tribute to the last administration for projects initiated and completed to increase the self-esteem of Akwa Ibom person and earn respect, maintaining that his administration would take the state to new heights of superior performance.

He expressed delight that his administration has made an impressive score card in industrialization and infrastructural development through ground breaking ceremonies and the reactivation of industries, adding that the state is experiencing regular electricity, the flow of pipe borne water, revamping of the health care sector, construction of roads, bridges, drainage systems, and training of youths in agriculture, photography, film production, Information and communication technology ICT and in the power sector.

He pledged to ensure that the light of the new dawn of faith in the capacity to be great in unity and brotherliness remain alive, explaining that the administration bear no grudge against those seeking redress concerning the last elections from the judiciary..
