Shock! Six housemates evicted from BBNaija show in one day: How viewers voted

Admin February 18, 2018

It was a case of shock and disbelief as six housemates got evicted from the BigBrotherNaija show on Sunday.

First came the disqualification of housemates, K-brule and Khloe from the ongoing reality show for breaking house rules. The duo was given three strikes for provocation which led to their eviction from the house.

Then came the eviction of Bitto and Princess followed by that of Vandora and Dee-One. The shock of the day was the escape of team Mina (Miracle and Nina) who surprisingly got the highest votes to establish a strong presence in the house. They were both considered the weakest link and team in the house especially by the housemates but they got the highest number of votes to prove pundits wrong. They polled 28.5 percent of the votes followed by BamTeddy with 21.6 percent while team Loto (lolu and Anto) got 15.2 percent. Team Cebi (Cee-C and Tobi) polled 13.5 percent while team Rinneka got 11.6 percent. Team Angelifu got 3.99 percent while Prito and Vandee got 3.05 and 2.98 percent respectively.

The voting pattern showed that what Nigerians want in the housemates is simplicity, originality and humility which appear to be the strength of team MINA. The so-called strong teams in the house do not seem to appeal to the voters and viewers.

The eviction spurred bouts of weeping. Alex was inconsolable as she cried much like a baby. She sobbed for a long while, long after the six housemates had left the house. Only 14 housemates are left but BigBrother, always full of drama and suspense, may introduce more housemates in the days ahead.
