Septuagenarian arrested for allegedly defiling 4-year-old niece

Police in Nasarawa State have taken a 75-year-old man into custody for allegedly defiling his four-year-old niece at Obi Local Government Area of the state.

Police spokesman, DSP Ramhan Nansel, stated in Lafia on Sunday that a report was made to the police on Saturday, the day of the alleged defilement, leading to the arrest of the septuagenarian.

“Police operatives attached to Obi Division have arrested a 75-year- old man at Daddare community in Obi Local Government Area for defiling his four-year-old old niece living in the same house with him.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his niece are resident in the same house where he lured the victim into his room and wilfully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical examination where a doctor confirmed that her hymen was broken,’’ Nansel stated.

He added that the suspect would be arraigned if found culpable. (NAN)
