SARS Reform is Constitutional, Will Correct Anomaly, Bring Police Closer To The People- Mba

Admin January 23, 2019

IGP, Abubakar Adamu

The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba says reforms on Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, is constitutional and will correct the abnormality, restore order and bring the Police closer to the people

Mba who was live on CHANNELS TV SUNRISE DAILY PROGRAM to speak on the decentralisation of SARS by the Force also reeled out Policy Directions of the new IGP, Abubakar Adamu

According to him, decentralisation of SARS is to ensure unity of the command and control in line with democratic and community policing. “This is just a tip of the iceberg among very many reforms the new IGP is bringing in the Force”, he said

He however added that this will also curb bureaucratic bottleneck. “The IGP is committed to this will power and has directed the command CPs on his policy direction in this regard.”

On the forth coming elections he reiterated the Force commitment to give Nigerians the best security arrangement in the general elections with equal playing ground and adequate security for all.

“As lead agency in internal security, we will work with other security and safety agencies to ensure a safe and secured environment.  The IGP set up a Special Election Investigation Teams (SEIT) proactive ad-hoc unit for this purpose and it will be disbanded when we are done with elections and all election matters”.
