“This bouquet of infrastructure for the Police is a testament to our administration’s faith in the police who keep their eyes open while we all go to sleep.

The State Government isn’t unmindful of the impact of insecurity on lives and properties, businesses and the economy, which is why it is deliberate in deploying several strategies including the provision of skills acquisition, agricultural programmes, construction, wealth creation, employment trust fund and use of technology to make Lagos State greater, safer and more secure as the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria and indeed Africa”, he said.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, while stressing the need for synergy between the Police and the people to curb crime, urged the people of the Idimu community to fully cooperate and collaborate with the Police to assist and strengthen the security in the environment to ensure the full realisation of the objectives behind the construction and equipping of this Police station.

He added that his administration has all hands on deck to ensure that the State is free of crime, filthy environment and several other social vices.

Speaking earlier, the Inspector General of Police, IG Egbetokun Kayode, represented by the ACP Operations Lagos Command, ACP. He said the building of the Police Station in Idimu would reduce crime among the people of Idimu community and its environs.

IGP Egbetokun Kayode assured the State Government and Idimu residents that the infrastructure put in place will be put to good use while extending his appreciation to the State Government and the Lagos State Ministry of Justice for its commitment to maintaining stability, law and order in the State.

The Attorney-General noted that beyond offering a conducive workspace, the facility is designed to enhance community policing, fostering a closer relationship between law enforcement and Idimu residents as the State addresses security challenges to build a safer and more harmonious society.

“Let’s continue working together to build a state where the rights, security and safety of every citizen are vigilantly protected”, he said.

Furthermore, Pedro commended all involved in bringing the project to fruition including the architects, engineers, contractors, and every individual contributing expertise, stating that the commitment to excellence reflects the shared values everyone holds dearly in Lagos State.
