Russia 2018: Nigerians hopeful as Eagles draw Argentina, Iceland, Croatia

Admin December 1, 2017

For the umpteenth time, Nigeria has drawn against Argentina at the group of the World Cup. The draw for the 2018 World Cup in Russia has placed Nigeria, Iceland, Croatia and Argentina in the same Group D.

Since the draw on Friday, soccer pundits have described it as fair, saying Nigeria would qualify from the group.

Though described as tricky as both Iceland and Croatia parade quality players, Nigerians have expressed optimism that the country will make the top two slots.

Other pairings were:  Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay Group A. Group B features Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Iran. Group C has France Australia, Peru and Denmark. Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E. Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea are in Group F. Group G has Belgium, Panama, Tunisia and England while Poland, Senegal, Colombia and Japan are in Group H.
