Revealed: Buhari’s Aide Smuggled ‘Fake’ Budget into National Assembly

He said that the Senate have decided to honour only the budget presented by President Muhammadu Buhari. The senate President on Wednesday had asked the senate committee on Ethic, Privileges and Public Petitions to investigate the veracity of the story behind the missing 2016 budget.

Eyinnaya Abaribe, the senator representing Abia South, had insisted on hearing from the senate leadership on the missing budget, which led to the decision to investigate the missing budget. The senate majority leader Ali Ndume had earlier raised the issue of the missing budget.

The senate committee on Ethic ,Privileges and Public Petitions presented its report on the missing budget and indicted the senior special assistant to the President Muhammadu Buhari, Ita Enang for smuggling a fake 2016 budget , which was different from what the original copy presented by President Buhari. He said they will work with the original copy presented by Buhari.

In his tweet, the senate President Saraki said “the budget was never missing, while the President submitted one, the special adviser presented another one. Hence reason for investigation. In another tweet, Saraki said “We came to a resolution that since we have 2 versions of the 2016 budget, we will only accept the one presented by the President.”
