Restructuring: What APC promised Nigerians, by spokesman

Admin July 3, 2017

The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday said it did not promise Nigerians restructuring which entailed redrawing the map of Nigeria across regions or other dismemberment considerations but restructuring of the governance style of the nation. Spokesperson of the ruling party, Bolaji Abdullahi, said this on TVC television channel.

Abdullahi while condemning the rash of calls for restructuring along state or regional lines, said there are more pressing issues of governance that the APC is dealing with than succumbing to dismemberment of the nation. The APC spokesman had been up and about in recent days trying to defend the government as having delivered on its promise to Nigerians.

On Sunday he was on Channels TV where he said the party does not know President Muhammadu Buhari’s current health status.

According to Abdullahi, “I don’t know the health status of the president. The party (APC) does not know either.”

After spending over 50 days on medical vacation in London, the President had on May 7 returned to the United Kingdom, UK, for follow-up medical check-up and is yet to return.

Against the backdrop of his current health status, both his aides and associates have continued to assure Nigerians that the President was responding to treatment.
