Recall Process: I will appeal court judgment – Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the Senate has reacted to the High Court judgment which on Monday dismissed his suit to stop INEC from carrying on with his recall process from the Senate.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, had on Monday given a go ahead to INEC to carry on with the recall process initiated by Melaye’s constituents.

But Senator Melaye in a statement said pointedly that INEC is working with Kogi State government to stampede him out of the Upper Chamber, saying they would fail.

Melaye says: “My great people of Kogi West Senatorial district of Kogi state, in the face of obvious persecution and appealable judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, today. Let not your heart be troubled. Lies will never overtake or conquer TRUTH.

“The presence of the Kogi State Attonery General and Commissioner for Justice in Court today over a matter that Kogi State is not joined as a party shows the clear collaborative efforts of INEC and Kogi State Government”.

Senator Melaye had been caught in diverse webs of controversy in the Senate in addition to having a running battle with his governor,
