After barely 50 days of medical vacation, President Muhammadu Buhari will return to Nigeria on Friday, according to Femi Adesina his media adviser.

Buhari left Nigeria on 19 January for a vacation in London and was scheduled to return to work on 6 February. His visit to UK, he said would include some medical checks.

However,  a day to his resumption, he requested for an extension of his holiday, following the recommendation of his doctors that he wait for further tests and rest.

According to Adesina, President Buhari expressed appreciation to teeming Nigerians from across the country, and beyond, who had prayed fervently for him, and also sent him their good wishes.

His arrival Friday will put to rest the speculations about his health and shame death wishers.

While away, the President had received eminent visitors and made and received phone calls from several world leaders, all wishing him quick recovery.

On Thursday, President Buhari received the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Justin Welby. As it turned out, Welby merely came to say goodbye.
