Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have neutralised an armed robbery suspect, rescued six kidnapped victims, and recovered multiple firearms, ammunition, and stolen vehicles in a series of coordinated tactical operations across ten states.
The countrywide achievements, highlighted in an official release by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu on September 18, 2026, detail significant operational breakthroughs recorded in Katsina, Anambra, Delta, Kaduna, Oyo, Imo, Nasarawa, Gombe, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Key Operational Highlights:
Kidnap Rescues and Anti-Banditry: In Katsina State, police operatives repelled a bandit attack at Makwanta Village in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area, successfully rescuing three kidnapped victims unhurt.
Operatives recovered an abandoned AK-47 rifle loaded with five live rounds, illicit drugs, and personal items left behind by the fleeing assailants.
Similarly, joint efforts with local vigilantes in Anambra State led to the rescue of two abducted persons and the seizure of an operational Highlander SUV in Awka.
In Delta State, police arrested four suspected kidnappers in Asaba and rescued a victim who remained in captivity despite a ransom payment by his family.
Armed Robbery & Neutralisation: Tactical patrol teams in the Federal Capital Territory engaged a gang of armed robbers in a gun duel at Sauka Village, Kuje Area Council, resulting in the neutralisation of one suspect.
Combating Cultism & Violent Crime: In Nasarawa State, a sustained manhunt culminated in the arrest of three suspects linked to a deadly violent attack in Bukan Ari, Doma LGA.
Meanwhile, Anambra State police intercepted a criminal syndicate in Old Nkpor, arresting five suspected cultists and armed robbers while recovering a stolen tricycle.
Interstate Vehicle Recovery: Anti-crime units recovered multiple stolen vehicles, including a Hyundai Sonata tracked to Akinyele, Ibadan (Oyo State) with three suspects arrested, and a Toyota Corolla intercepted in Imo State while being trafficked from Rivers to Anambra State.
Forest Clearance Operations: A joint security operation cleared the Arabu Forest Reserve in Makarfi LGA, Kaduna State, yielding two locally made guns, military camouflage attire, and three sacks of suspected Indian hemp.
All recovered exhibits have been secured, and the suspects are currently undergoing detailed interrogations managed by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments (SCIDs) ahead of formal prosecution.
