Tactical operatives and joint security forces across Nigeria have rescued 18 kidnapped victims, neutralized an armed robber, and arrested 22 criminal suspects during a series of coordinated operations across ten states.

The operational achievements were detailed in a bulletin released on Tuesday by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, highlighting major breakthroughs in Benue, Kogi, Taraba, Sokoto, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Osun, and Enugu states.

Major Kidnap Rescues in Benue and Kogi
In Benue State, a joint tactical team of police and security personnel raided a kidnappers’ den in Onyangede, Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA), successfully rescuing eight abducted victims.

Two suspects were taken into custody while the victims were rushed to the hospital for medical evaluation.

Similarly, in Kogi State, police and military personnel responded to an attack along the Kabba-Ayere Road, rescuing ten occupants of a targeted vehicle and recovering the automobile. Bush-combing operations remain ongoing in the area to track down fleeing perpetrators.

Following intelligence-led operations in Taraba State, Nigerian Army troops tracked a suspect belonging to an armed robbery syndicate to his hideout. The suspect engaged troops in a gun duel and was neutralised.

Troops recovered an English-made pistol and 15 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition from the scene.

In Sokoto State, Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel alongside community guards repelled an attack by armed bandits in Dukuma Village, Binji LGA. The attackers fled into nearby forests, leaving behind 20 rustled cattle, which were recovered in full.

Lagos State: Responding to a distress call in Satellite Town, operatives apprehended one of three armed men who broke into a residential building, recovering a Beretta pistol loaded with five rounds of 9mm live ammunition.

In a separate intelligence-led raid across Yaba and Orile, 11 suspected miscreants were arrested with illicit drugs.

Akwa Ibom State: Operatives of the Vehicle Crime Raid Unit (VCRU) raided a hideout in Ifa Atai, arresting a suspected armed robber and seizing two locally-made pistols, an expended cartridge, machetes, and charms.

Ebonyi State: MOPOL 32 personnel stationed at the Central Bank of Nigeria branch in Abakaliki intercepted and arrested a suspect who scaled the perimeter fence to gain access to the premises.

Police operatives in Osun State arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a herder at Elewonta Akanmole Village, Iwo. In Enugu State, one suspect was arrested over the killing of Emmanuel Ogenyi at Orokoro Ihenyi Village Square, Eha-Amufu, with manhunt operations active for remaining accomplices.

All cases have been transferred to the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments (SCID) and specialized units for detailed profiling and prosecution.
