The Police Command in Lagos State has apprehended two suspects in connection with alleged multiple murders in the state, and declared a businessman wanted as investigations intensify.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, disclosed this on Thursday while addressing journalists at the command headquarters in Ikeja.

He said the arrests followed a renewed and discreet investigation into two high-profile killings that occurred in 2023 and 2024 in the Eti-Osa area of the state.

According to Jimoh, the two principal suspects, known as Fabo and Bariga, were apprehended following fresh efforts to resolve the cases.

He said both men confessed to participating in the murders of Mr. Sheriff Salami Ishola and Prince Ademola Akinloye.

The police chief stated that investigations revealed Ishola was killed on April 18, 2023, after being dragged to an isolated building along Mobile Road in the Ajah area and shot at close range.

He added that in a similar incident on Aug. 26, 2024, Prince Ademola Akinloye, son of Oba Adetunji Akinloye, the Ojomu of Ajiran Land in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, was shot dead along Chevron Drive.

“The same gang carried out both attacks using similar methods,” he said.

Jimoh further stated that the suspects implicated a 38-year-old businessman, as the sponsor of the killings.

“They confessed to receiving N2 million for the first killing, paid in installments, and were promised additional benefits, including assistance to travel abroad,” he said.

Jimoh declared the businessman wanted in connection with the two murder cases.

“He is currently at large. Wherever he may be, he is advised to surrender to the nearest police station.

“Members of the public who see him should promptly report to the police,” he said.

The commissioner noted that the cases occurred before he assumed office but were reopened following petitions and complaints from members of the public who demanded justice for the victims.

He assured residents that the command would “leave no stone unturned” in its efforts to arrest other fleeing suspects and bring all those involved to justice.

Jimoh urged members of the public to provide credible information that could aid ongoing investigations.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring safety and combating violent crime across the state. (NAN)
