There was confusion in Ondo town, Ondo state as the police have found children allegedly being held by the church on its premises in the Valentino area of Ondo Town. But other sources claim it was not a case of kidnap but that the children were part of a programme being hosted by the church.

The pastor and some members of the church had been arrested and undergoing interrogation at the Criminal Investigation Department of the police.

The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in the state, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident, explaining that the police had acted based on a tip off.

The children, about 50, have been moved to the police headquarters.

Some persons said they suspect a case of kidnap as the children had been within the church premises for about one week.
