Police arrests man over alleged killing of 2 in Ogun

The Police Command in Ogun has arrested a 25-year-old suspect over alleged killing of two persons and causing three others injury at Olambe area of Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Okuseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

Babaseyi said that it was reported that the suspect attacked the victims with a knife after failing in some business deals.

“On Tuesday, April 7, at about 1.38 a.m., the suspect stabbed five people.

“Two of them, Gbadamasi Ibrahim ‘M, aged 25, and Chinedu ‘M’, aged 40, died while being taken to the hospital where a doctor later confirmed their deaths.

“Also, the other three victims, Mohammed Abubakar ‘M’, aged 35; Ashiru Adamu ‘M’, aged 25; and Paul Lawrence ‘M’, aged 25, are in critical condition, but responding to treatment,” he said.

Babaseyi said that the suspect fled the scene after the attack, but was later caught by detectives and was now in police custody.

He further said that the case and the suspect have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation and prosecution.

The PRO said that the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and promised that justice would be served.

Ojajuni urged the public to stay alert and report any incident that could cause break down of law and order to security agencies in rhe state.
