The Police Command in Niger says it has arrested one Maikudi Usman, for allegedly killing one Muhammad Ma’aba who was attacked by a group in Gbako Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s Spokesperson, Mr. Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement in Minna on Sunday, alleged that Usman was part of the suspects that attacked the deceased.

Abiodun explained that on April 17, at about 2 p.m., the police got an information that a group allegedly led one Alhaji Yikangi of Chikan village in Lemu, attacked Ma’aba of Kuderegi village of the same address.

Abiodun said the deceased and the suspect were from Gbako Local Government Area of the state.

“Ma’ aba was reportedly beaten to a state of coma, over a misunderstanding on one Fatima Suleiman of the same address.

“He gave up the ghost on the way to Lemu Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“The incident is under investigation and efforts to arrest the perpetrators of the crime is ongoing,” spokesperson said.
