Mr. Peter Obi, a frontline Presidential aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has resigned from the party effective Friday, May 20, 2022.

In a letter dated May 24, 2022 and received in the office of the Chairman of PDP on May 25, Obi said he had by the letter also withdrawn from the party’s  Presidential primary, citing recent developments in the PDP which have made it “impossible to continue participating and making such constructive contributions.”

Obi hinted he may continue his pursuit of working to rescue the country through any other routes.

Strong hints have emerged that he may join either the SDP or the Labour party.

There had been speculation that Obi may pull out of PDP because of suspected manipulations by the party leadership to shut some people out of the party to favour the leadership’s preferred candidate.

Obi may just be a tip of the iceberg as some other candidates and their loyalists are said to be inside looking out.
