The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Sector Command, says one person died in a lone accident on the Ilesa–Ipetu highway, Osun State.

The Sector Commander, Mr. Adegboyega Leye, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi.

Leye said the crash involved a Nissan Murano Jeep, with registration number AAA 413 KJ, which lost control after a tyre burst caused by excessive speed.

He said the accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. after Iwaraja Junction, near Cele Church, and involved four occupants.

According to him, one person died in the crash, while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Leye said a good Samaritan conveyed the injured victims to an undisclosed hospital, while the deceased was deposited at OAUTHC morgue, Ilesa.

“We appreciate other security agencies that collaborated with the FRSC to ensure normalcy and prevent traffic congestion at the scene,” he said.

He warned motorists against traffic violations, saying: “The command will not hesitate to deal with offenders who breach road safety regulations.”
