Governor Okowa who stated this Thursday when he received the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli I on a Thank-You-Visit in Asaba said that traditional rulers need to co-operate and partner among themselves to generate love and peace among our people and create enabling environment for development to thrive.

‘’ I appreciate this visit, the array of traditional rulers from our state who were at your coronation was a show of love for your person, your kingdom and the peace that exist in the state, we need to build on it as it will be very good for the development of our state. The more we build partnership among our traditional rulers the more we generate love and peace among our people ‘’ he said adding ‘’ Delta is largely peaceful, it is my hope that we have a more peaceful Warri and environs and distrust will be a thing of the past.’’

Senator Okowa charged the Olu of Warri to continue to uphold the present peaceful environment to ensure that work continues at the Delta Gas City Ogidigben explaining that the benefits of the project to the state and the communities far outweighs any individual or material gain.

‘’ We need to ensure that we keep the peace for the benefits of the communities of the Delta Gas City Ogidigben as that is the only way the Federal Government and the contractors will continue to work with us, we must always think of the future benefits of this project for our community and for our children’s children.’’ The governor said.

He commended the Olu of Warri and his entourage for the visit and thanked him for extending his hands of fellowship to traditional rulers in neighbouring kingdoms, describing it as a good omen for the state.
